O primeiro corredor parte às 15h15 e é Angus Miller da equipa Atom 6 Bikes Decca  (AUS).

In just a few moments, the final stage of the 86th Volta a Portugal – Continente will begin, with an individual time trial in the city of Lisbon over a distance of 16.7 km.
The first rider to start will be Angus Miller of Atom 6 Bikes Decca (AUS), at 3:15 p.m.

10ª Etapa- Lisboa- Lisboa (CRI) (chegada)

 A majestosa Praça do Imperio, em Lisboa, acolherá o final da 86ª Volta a Portugal Continente. Os cerca de 16,7 km, perfeitamente planos, do contrarrelógio individual, da 10ª etapa, que medeiam entre a Praça do Imperio, Algés, Cruz Quebrada, Alcântara, Quinta do Cabrinha e regresso à Praça do Imperio, reserva para os especialistas no “Esforço em Solitário” um excelente último dia de prova.
 
A primeira vez que Lisboa recebeu a partida de uma etapa foi no ano de 1932, na 3ª edição da Volta a Portugal e era camisola amarela José Maria Nicolau (Benfica), a última que uma etapa da prova aconteceu na Capital de Portugal, foi em 2022 no Prólogo que marcou o arranque dessa edição da Portuguesa com vitória de Rafael Reis. Será a 52ª partida de etapas da “Cidade das Sete Colinas”.
 
Esta será a 102º chegada de uma etapa da Volta a Portugal a Lisboa, incluindo uma da Edição Especial. O primeiro final de tirada foi em 1927, ano de estreia da competição que teve início na Margem Esquerda do Tejo, em Cacilhas e coincidiu com o final da prova.
 
Das etapas terminadas em Lisboa, 22 foram disputadas na mítica pista do Estádio José de Alvalade, 19 no sistema de contrarrelógio individual, 2 por equipas e 1 por séries, a última das quais em 1984, ganha por Marco Chegas (Sporting).
 
Nas 86 edições da Volta a Portugal, Lisboa continua a liderar, muito destacada, como a localidade com mais finais de prova, festejando em 2025 a 45º Final de Prova. Certo é que Lisboa e a Praça do Imperio, com o ex-libris Mosteiro dos Jerónimos como “Pano de Fundo”, vão coroar os mais fortes da 86ª Volta a Portugal Continente.

The majestic Praça do Império, in Lisbon, will host the finish of the 86th Volta a Portugal – Continente. The 16.7 km, perfectly flat, individual time trial of the 10th stage, running between Praça do Império, Algés, Cruz Quebrada, Alcântara, Quinta do Cabrinha, and back to Praça do Império, offers the specialists in the “Race of Truth” an excellent final day of competition.
 
The first time Lisbon hosted the start of a stage was in 1932, during the 3rd edition of the Volta a Portugal, when José Maria Nicolau (Benfica) wore the yellow jersey. The most recent time a stage took place in Portugal’s capital was in 2022, with the Prologue that opened that year’s edition, won by Rafael Reis. This will be the 52nd stage start from the “City of Seven Hills.”
 
This will also mark the 102nd stage finish of the Volta a Portugal in Lisbon, including one from the Special Edition. The first finish took place in 1927, the inaugural year of the race, which began on the south bank of the Tagus, in Cacilhas, and ended in Lisbon.
 
Of the stages that have finished in Lisbon, 22 were contested on the legendary track of the Estádio José de Alvalade, 19 as individual time trials, 2 as team time trials, and 1 in series format — the latter in 1984, won by Marco Chagas (Sporting).
 
Throughout the 86 editions of the Volta a Portugal, Lisbon remains by far the city with the most stage finishes, and in 2025 it will celebrate its 45th Grand Finale. One thing is certain: Lisbon and Praça do Império, with the iconic Jerónimos Monastery as a backdrop, will crown the strongest riders of the 86th Volta a Portugal – Continente.
